In the spring of 2003, I met Gordon Dunphy of Taymouth, New Brunswick. Overwhelmed best describes my reaction upon seeing his turnings. Their beauty is past speech. Since then, I have spent many days with Gordon in his studio. Without restraint, I have been given insights into materials and processes that have taken Gordon thirty years to discover and adapt to his style.
Having spent most of my life as an educator, I credit Gordon as being the best teacher I have encountered, in any guise. He had a good deal to do with helping me find a part of myself that, until then, had remained obstinately hidden.
Gordon is refined, generous, articulate and good humored. He continues to turn at THE ENCHANTED FOREST in Taymouth, New Brunswick, Canada.
