"Daughters of Thor": Rare, Gallery Quality Five Vessel Set of Bird's Eye Oak
Dunn To A Turn Woodturning is presenting a five piece set of turned vessels created from bird’s eye oak. The tree was found in the forests of Nova Scotia on the Atlantic Coast of Canada. Among oak trees of the world, bird’s eye oak is a seldom witnessed anomaly. The markings are especially dense, providing immediate and undeniable identification.
In Norse mythology the oak was regarded as a sacred tree. “Daughters of Thor” was selected as a fitting salute to both the tree and the vessels.
Due to the rarity of the wood and the preference of the maker, a set like this will not be offered again. It is, and shall remain, one of a kind.
